This project showcases a logo design for the Olympics if it were to take place within Kyoto, Japan. Research was done on the history of Kyoto and important landmarks that define the area and its rich culture.Several different landmarks were looked into, and different sketch iterations were done which led to the final logo mark of a Kyoto temple. To compliment this, a simple yet bold typeface was chosen in a teal color palette that comes from the temple’s tiles. The colors of the tower come from the color palette of the famous Olympic rings.
